Review What’s Available and Customize

There are policies and procedures available that can be customized for First Nations Health Services. We can go through these with each health team, customize them each team’s use, and support integration of these into an organizations’ existing policies

Make a Plan

FNDHO works with First Nations Health Teams to identify any areas each organization would like to improve and who needs to be involved to support these changes.

Get Approval and Implement

Following each organizations’ protocols, FNDHO can support the implementation and approval or new and enhanced procedures

Privacy Contact Training

Each organization’s main privacy contact or officer may want extra training and support to be confident with their role and responsibilities. Contact us to receive a customized training session or visit our resources page to access our Privacy and Security training resources.

Staff Awareness Training

An important part of integrating privacy and security into each organization is making sure staff are trained on privacy and security policies and procedures. FNDHO provides customized staff awareness sessions and online resources to help ensure everyone has the information and supports they need. Action Plans

As First Nations health teams move through their privacy and security journey, changes may occur (new building, new programs, new IT equipment, staff changes, etc.). As such, actions may be required to sustain privacy and security. We can provide health teams with the templates and ongoing support to identify items they may need to address as an organization goes through these changes.

Staff Support and Feedback

Regular check ins with health teams can be helpful in identifying issues and staff needs. FNDHO encourages and supports health teams to have open discussions with staff as it helps to generate ideas on how best the organization can adhere to policies and procedures

Monthly and Annual Checks

To keep things running smoothly and make sure your organization is effective protecting sensitive information on behalf of clients and community, it is important to perform some regular checks. We can help put together these monthly and annual action items.
